NGC2359 'Thor's Helmet'

NGC2359 'Thor's Helmet' - Paul Rix (PaulRix)
Description : NCG2359 in Canis Major, This image was created using a Hydrogen Alpha filter for luminance and RGB filters for colour. The Camera used was a Meade DSI Pro II through a 10in LX200 'Classic' and F3.3 Focal reducer. NGC2359 is approximately 1500 light years distant and in the region of 30 light years across. The Bubble of gas was formed by intense solar winds eminating from the Wolf-Rayet star located in the center of the nebula.
